On September 2, 2021, Ambassador Guo Min met with the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov. The two parties held an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, practical cooperation in various fields, international cooperation, etc.

Ambassador Guo Min noted that on June 2, 2021, President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which the two leaders indicated the directions for the further development of bilateral relations. Both sides should implement the agreements reached by the leaders, deepen Belt and Road cooperation, and, taking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as an opportunity, seek greater development of the bilateral ties to deliver greater benefits to the two countries and their peoples.

Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov spoke highly of the outcomes of bilateral relations and noted that the Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations with China and is ready to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in various fields in order to achieve new progress in the development of bilateral relations.
